This enamel tray from the English brand Roomytown is an adaptation of the famous Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours, the 19th-century chromatic system used by naturalists and explorers to catalogue the hues of the natural world. A kind of Pantone for Victorian gentlemen with too much free time and curiosity about the planet.
The result is a piece that combines science, art, and natural history without seeming to try too hard. Ideal for serving coffee or organising the small objects that inevitably accumulate on your desk.
Handmade in India, each piece has slight variations that attest to the manual work. It is food-safe, although it also works very well as a decorative or storage item.
